Good writers always practice

I think the best way for any writer to get really good at what they do is to practice, practice, practice. Just like any other hobby or job, excellence and skill come with practice.

Keeping a journal, in which you write something every day, is one way. But don't stop there. Try writing articles for on-line companies like suite101. Editors will critique your writing, giving feedback to help you sharpen your skills, and then your articles will be published on their site. Unlike journalling for yourself, you can actually make some money this way.

As you practice, you learn and the better you will get. You will also gain self confidence as a writer and be more willing to try new things.

Never stop writing if it is something that truly makes you happy.
