I've been a voracious reader all my life and expect that to continue until my life ends or my mind goes, whichever comes first. My life has been full of change, trying new things, new occupations and lifelong learning. Among my various and sundry occupations have been:
serving in the Women's Army Corps as an Information Specialist;
working for a private detective agency;
teaching at the high school and college levels;
being in charge of program evaluation at a community mental health center;
coordinating a Federal-funded grant program for the State of Tennessee; and
working with mentally challenged adults in state hospitals and in the community.
I have an M.A. in Experimental/Developmental Psychology from the University of Akron. Originally from Barberton, OH, which is near Akron, I have resided in such places as Miami, FL, Butler, PA, Jefferson, NC, Nashville, TN, Salt Lake City, Utah, Ft. Slocum, MO, Wooster, OH, Brevard, NC, and a few others hardly worth mentioning.
So you see I have a wealth of background information and place information to draw upon for my fiction writing.
I presently live a quiet life with my two cats, Maggie and Mingo.

Twin brother and sister, Jason and Caroline Peterson, were looking forward to a fun vacation with their dad in the Azores. What they hadn't counted on was finding and following a strange cat-like creature down a jungle trail and into the side of an extinct volcano. Once inside, they inadvertently stepped through a time gate, going back untold eons when the lost continent of Atlantis wasn't lost, was in fact flourishing. However, the people of Atlantis were not doing so well. There was a deadly secret rotting out the heart of an otherwise great civilization, a secret that Jason and Caroline had to discover the hard way, and had to combat with the help of a little twenty-first century magic and friends in high places. If this rotten heart were allowed to continue to beat much longer, the entire world of humanity would suffer. And the twins would never see their own world again, if it even still existed.

Rose Grady, park ranger for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, usually has her hands full dealing with such day-to-day details as campground fights, irate tourists, animal attacks and disappearances. But something more deadly is now loose in the park. On two separate occasions, solo female backpackers, one of whom was herself a park ranger, met grisly deaths in the backcountry. Was it a maddened bear? Or was it murder? Rose tended to think that a human agency was behind the deaths, and set out in her usual hardheaded manner to prove it. In the meantime, two of her male counterparts were complicating matters by competing with each other for her affections. But Rose had a more serious problem to be concerned with: staying alive. For the sinister force responsible for those deaths was now after her!
