The Polyester Cowboy by Williams relates the fanciful adventures of the self styled Beau Brummel of Sunnybank. The Cowboy as he is known in Sunnybank fancies himself a big time player but most observers see him as something quite less. This novel will introduce you to the Girlfriend, Buzz Bomb Scott, Arlo P. Waterpit, Fatttie Swinehurst and Ex Officer LoPuss. You will be in on their plans to take over the world of ball bearings and control an important aspect of the country’s commerce. You will be there when Buzz Bomb has his fateful meeting with Mr. Big and plans are laid for the future. But in the end it all comes to naught. You will be there when Shyster Shultz gives his stirring speech to the crest fallen members after disaster strikes within Federated.

Here is a small taste:

He Quit! He resigned from the Section! The word went out. Williams is leaving. Why? The members asked themselves. Why was the honest man leaving at just this time with the Fair only months away? And to make matters worse, to write a book! What will he say? How much does Williams know? The questions shook the foundations of Federated.

Most concerned were the members of Buzz Bomb’s group. How much did Williams know about the alliance with Mister Big? About the Triad? The Spitfire had developed engine trouble the moment Buzz Bomb learned the news and the tiny fighter had been in peril ever since.

Prophets and the Kings
Prophets and the Kings
by R. Phillips Rating: 0.0

This work is an historical novel covering the era of the great prophets of the bible, Elijah, the Tishbite, and Elisha, son of Shabbat. The book begins at the end of the life of Israel’s great king, Solomon. We follow the break up of Israel into the northern and southern kingdoms. You will meet the kings of Judea and of Israel, both the good and the evil. We attempt to fill in the blanks somewhat, especially concerning the great persecution of Ahab and Jezebel against the people of GOD. And then we fill in some blanks concerning the life of Elijah, the great Prophet to Israel. The author translates the language of the King James Era English into a form more easily understandable to the reader.

This work is not scripture. This book is a historical novel. It is an interpretation of history as related by the Holy Scriptures of the KJV of the bible. This book is a work in the tradition of the best selling novel from 1949, “The Greatest Story Ever Told” by Fulton Oursler.

Upon this Rock
Upon this Rock

This account describing events surrounding the life of Jesus of Nazareth and the birth of the Christian Church is taken entirely from the letters of Luke, the Physician. Luke wrote two letters to his friends; one message gave the world the Gospel According to Luke; and the second gave the world the Acts of the Apostles. Herein, the two letters are combined into one comprehensive work. The Gospel According to Luke recounts historical facts concerning the birth of Jesus, his ministry, his crucifixion and resurrection. While the Acts of the Apostles picks up the narrative with the resurrection and goes on to record the establishment and growth of the Church. When the Book of Acts ends the Christian Church has been firmly established and is thriving and growing throughout the known world and everywhere men and women are claiming Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

This novel is an expanded version of historical events---taken from the KJV---written in common every day American English. In some instances, Luke’s narrative is expanded to make events more easily understood. In other instances, tightly woven accounts are extrapolated upon in order to provide the reader with a basic understanding---the true intent and meaning---of the scriptures described. This is not scripture. This is a historical novel. This work is in the tradition of another great novel by Fulton Oursler from 1949, The Greatest Story Ever Told. The best authority for scripture… is scripture.
