In 2006 Cathy and Marty, both avid readers, decided to write a full length historical novel. After several months of research, their first book “Three Gold Nuggets” was completed in January 2008. Cathy, Marty’s wife, primarily created the profile for the characters in the book as well as conceiving the primary plot and story line. Marty performed the detail creation from their general outline.

Marty attended meetings and classes at the Writers Society of Jefferson County for several years which assisted him in developing and maintaining the resolve necessary to confront the daunting task of writing a complete novel.

Marty enjoys reading Historical Fiction, Science Fiction and Westerns. Cathy’s preferred genre include Historical Fiction, Adventure and Mystery.

Although the writing is generally classified as Historical Fiction, it is augmented with numerous elements of religious and inspirational overtones. The book is historically informative, entertaining, charged with action and spitritually inspirational.

Now retired, they are considering crafting a sequel to the book.

Also, Marty and Cathy are engaged in the process of compiling a collection of approximately forty nonfictional short stories written by family members, targeted for a separate book.
